History.

The history of Mandu began in the sixth century, when it was referred to as Mandapadurga. But Mandu really prospered as a major garrison town in the tenth century, during the rule of the Paramara dynasty. Later, in the fourteenth century, it was the capital of the Malwa Sultanate, ruled by Afghani leader Dilawar Khan Ghuri. During this time, Mandu saw a cultural revival thanks to the patronage of poets, artists, and architects including the folklore-famous Baz Bahadur and Rani Roopmati.
