The craft of Dokra involves a meticulous process of metal casting, which is both labor-intensive and fascinating. Artisans create a clay model of the desired object or figurine, cover it with a layer of beeswax, and then add intricate details to the wax model. The entire structure is coated with more clay, creating a mold. Molten metal, typically a blend of brass and other alloys, is poured into the mold. Once cooled and solidified, the outer clay layer is broken to reveal the final metal piece.
